A one-night only HOMEBREW benefitting Honest Pint
We are so excited to bring you our next HomeBrew -- In The Boots of St. Nick
It will be a special event, featuring one of our very first Pintrons, David Bartlett. That's right -- one of your own will take the stage on December 1 to tell you his story of creating Christmas magic when he dons the red suit and white beard as Santa Claus.
David has been a Santa for many years, and this is his story brought to life. He also is a master clown. David has been called "ONE OF THE NATION'S MOST PERCEPTIVE AND ARTICULATE PRACTITIONERS OF THE CLOWN ART" by New Calliope Magazine. He is the recipient of the 1995 FREDDY AWARD FOR LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT IN CLOWN EDUCATION. His book, THE CLOWN STAR, has been called "THE NEW CLOWN BIBLE." He has toured throughout the U.S., Canada, and Europe teaching clowning.
He is also an award winning actor and director, having appeared in over 60 theatrical productions. He's done everything from NUNSENSE to Shakespeare. David has been performing as a Santa since 1969! In 2006, after a week of work on a comedy Christmas CD (JEST IN TIME FOR CHRISTMAS), in an almost instantaneous flash of revelation, David claims to have seen in his mind the entire one-man play that eventually became IN THE BOOTS OF ST. NICK (originally titled THE SANTA CLASS).
In July 2008, the show was named "SLEEPER HIT" of the Windsor CANADA INTERNATIONAL FRINGE FESTIVAL. In August 2009, the show was licensed to the New York production company ENTERTAINMENT EVENTS INC.
The show is now back in David's hands and he performs it when the Christmas spirit moves him. And we are SO LUCKY the spirit is moving him to share it with Honest Pint audiences on December 1st at Sonorous Road Theatre in Raleigh.
